Brass is softer than ferrous steel, making thread design critical. We specify a minimum internal blind tap depth of 8mm to 12mm (depending on knob diameter) and utilize thread roll-forming taps rather than cut taps wherever possible. Roll-forming work-hardens the brass grain structure along the thread flank, increasing thread shear resistance by over 30%. Once pre-production samples are signed off, mass production typically requires 25 to 35 calendar days depending on finish complexity (PVD batches require vacuum scheduling).
